Funds raised from each V-Day event are donated to local organizations that exist to prevent violence against women in their communities.

 

These beneficiary charities may also sponsor projects that donors typically find "unattractive" due to their controversial areas of focus.

 

Forward: An International organisation dedicated to improving the health and well-being of African women and girls. FORWARD campaigns to prevent and eliminate gender discriminatory practices like Female Genital Mutilation, and works to empower women in every walk of life.

Greater London Domestic Violence Project: The GLDVP seeks to bring much needed consistency to domestic violence practice across London. The project also brings together key agencies to develop a London-wide policy, and works to raise awareness and increase the effectiveness of inter-agency working.

Newham Asian Women's Project: the NAWP supports, campaigns and fights for the rights of Asian women and girls. They have established services for women and children escaping domestic violence such as counselling, legal advice, training, a youth project, a mental health project, and a project specifically designed for Asian women at risk of self-harm or suicide.

Refuge: Refuge is the UK's largest single provider of shelter to women and children escaping domestic violence. Services include: 24 hour National Domestic Violence help line, a network of refugees, a child psychology programme, and women's' individual/group counselling and outreach services. Refuge also campaigns to raise public awareness and influence government policy.

Southall Black Sisters: The Southall Black Sisters is an advice, campaigning and resource centre assisting Asian and African-Caribbean women experiencing domestic violence. Services provided range from practical support to counselling and support group work. SBS has also undertaken much policy work, notably around immigration, forced marriage and criminal justice.

International Planned Parenthood Federation:
IPPF is the largest voluntary organisation working to promote sexual and reproductive health and rights in over 180 countries. IPPF fights to reduce maternal deaths and help young people protect themselves from unwanted pregnancies and HIV/AIDS. Women's Aid: Women's Aid is the national domestic violence charity that co-ordinates and supports an England-wide network of over 500 local services. These services work to end violence against women and children and support over 320,000 women and children each year. They also work internationally on service development and are currently partnering projects with governments and NGOs in Russia and Uzbekistan.

South Essex Rape and Incest Crisis Centre:
Since 1984 SERICC has provided confidential, independent, women's-only sexual violence support and advocacy services for women and girls over the age of 13 who have experienced sexual violence in their lives. SERICC provides free telephone and face-to-face counselling services for women in the Essex area of Basildon, Brentwood and Thurrock. The services provided are in response to what women and girls say they need to enable them to have greater control and choice in their lives.
